Johnson`s White Bear Inn in Bloomingdale

It's a bar food place. Nothing too fancy. Just huge portions that are pleasingly greasy and taste great. Prices are very reasonable. The dining room is a little crowded and connected to the bar, if that matters to you. Try the onion rings you won't be disappointed.

I give this little bar and grill five stars for quality of food, and generous portions. This, is exactly what a little country grill should be. Perhaps a bit pricey, but you get your money's worth and will likely be taking food home. I found this place to be packed with a line waiting to be seated, and it's not hard to see why. I went with a group of eight, so we ordered a variety of appetizers and main dishes. From my experience, and seeing what was going by the table, they specialise in the appetizers. This was a very good meal, and I will be headed back in the future. Well done Johnson's!

The Food was Great and Plentiful, you do not leave feeling hungry !

Good place to eat and always crowded that means good food

Waitstaff was very friendly. Made you feel welcome. Wings were great. Portions are huge, especially the onion rings. One of the few places to eat in the area, but worth it. We have been to the area 2 times, and both times we ate here. Nothing fancy, typical local bar and grill, but food and staff make it worthwhile.

We visited this place for lunch our last day in Ohio. We drove in from Rochester NY. The onion rings tower was delicious and too much to bear, no pun in intended. Upon arrival 25m later about 150ppl on choppers and Harley's showed up. It was pretty neat. We ate outside to enjoy the weather so I cannot say how is was on the inside besides that it was super dark.

One of the best bacon lettuce and tomato sandwiches I've ever had. Did I mention they have really cold beer on tap and great service

Delicious ! I had the Woody , the roast beef melted in your mouth! My husband had the pork chops , they were so tender he could cut them with a fork . Good , friendly service. Will be going back.

Down to earth with great food and small town feel. Everyone is super friendly. Highly recommend the steaks. Ribs. And chicken as well as the spring salad which is my favorite

Friendly atmosphere, great food and service. Prices,I thought were very reasonable, especially considering the size of the portions. Not a quiet place, but fun. Outdoor patio if you like outdoor dining.

Good food, ok prices, service can be a little slow at times due to how busy they almost always are. Fried mozzarella is a must try, unlike any I have found anywhere!

It's ok but very packed !! Slow service and there food was ok !! The fish steak 😋😋 was the best thing like oh and great salad to but so slow/???

This is our favorite place for dinner. The food is excellent and the service is friendly. By far, the best steaks in the Ohio Valley!

Probably the best restaurant in the entire area. Tends to get awfully crowded on Friday and Saturday night, but I suppose that is to be expected due to the lack of dining establishments.

Comfortable & eclectic. We enjoy it enough as a family to make sure we get dinner there at least once when we visit the area every year

Great food and great service

Family restaurant with a casual and fun atmosphere. I really enjoyed the brisket. The fried provalone was something else. It tasted good, but I couldn't believe how much was served in one portion. We had 4 people at the table and still couldn't finish it. I later learned that this is an Ohio thing - not really unique to this restaurant. If you love cheese and don't mind all or the fat and cholesterol, then have at it.

Excellent food and service!

I came back here after about 6 years expecting to eat some dive food and have a beer. What I got was a packed house and some of the best fried fare I've had in this part of ohio. Whatever they've done here in the past half decade, it's working. If you get a chance to stop at the white bear, please treat yourself

Normally a 5 star restaurant but right now their prices are up (hopefully due to covid and not a permanent thing). No more $10 steak on Wednesday. The food and staff are still top notch though.

At the top of the list for good food and massive portions on your plate. Ya always leave with a "to go" box of leftovers.

The cheese sticks(chunks) are out of this world....service was great! The steak my husband got was 22.00, it was over cooked, tasted like a cheap sirloin. I got physically sick after eating the brisket....real fatty. They put parmesan cheese on the steak bites....my son did not like that! So usual pretty decent food.... tonight not so great 😔

If you like fish good drinks and steak best french fries around go there.... Update they did something to the fries they have waffle cut fries now not the hand cut homemade ones like they used to have not good.

Nice food you get a lot, but service was bad. When my food was ready she handed me my slip to pay and walked away, I had to ask someone else for condiments didn't get any silverware or napkins.

My first time here and I absolutely loved it. The food was phenomenal. I will be back to try everything on the menu. The staff was friendly and welcoming. It was like being with friends. I can't say enough about this place! Fantastic!!
